Camping at Lake Wenatchee with Friends
For this trip we went for only 2 nights, we figured it would be a good ease into camping. My daughter is a terrible sleeper so I have to say I was a bit nervous on how the nights would go. The first night was really restless and cold, the second night was much better thankfully!
The day we got there, Sunday, was so windy, but at least the wind blew away all the bugs. The second day was pretty perfect, slightly windy at times and warm. We went to the beach and walked around. My daughter for some reason hates sand and water right now, hopefully that will change soon. Her little friend Saya loved it and and had so much fun in the water. We also look a little hike along the river and around the camp grounds. We left on a lightly rain morning and headed for Leavenworth. We then spent a few hours there, walking the shops, eating ice cream and a pretzel.
The last night we were there I had an awesome lighting opportunity. I was seeing this amazing orange light in the sky and on the water's reflection from the sun passing through a cloud of smoke from the fires in Eastern Washington. Not a good thing at all, besides for the photos I was able to get.
I literally made a snap decision to throw my daughter on my back in the ergo, grab my camera and tripod and head down to the beach to find a good location to take some photos. And this is what I got. I took photos along the whole beach but this area had the best back drop silhouette landscape. I really love the first one and the focus that goes to the sun rays. The second one shows the whole scene that I got to play with.
The sun did pass out of this orange smoke haze and I'm so glad I ditched the others to do the dishes to capture this while it lasted.
